In the foyer gallery, you can find Elastic reality, which is Australian animation in the 21st century. The exhibition gallery holds over 100 years of sounds through television, radio, and Australian film. It is here where you are able to discover for yourself through touch screen programs. Archive alive is an introduction to some of the numerous audiovisual treasures that are on offer. There are also lectures such as the Longford Lyle lecture series and Thomas Rome series of lectures.
The NFSA is also home to a number of special events, one of them being Wireless House, which combines a public art project and social history. 2010 will also see the re-introduction of the popular Cinema under the Stars - where you can enjoy outdoor screenings on Saturday nights throughout the months of January and February.
